Hi there!

I'm Karly Wilkins, and I have been the Children's Librarian here at Weeks Public Library since August of 2022. I moved here from central Maine and am loving this beautiful state. When I am not at work (It's true, we don't live at the library!), I can be found doing one of the following things- writing, painting, reading (horror, fantasy, and thrillers are my favorite), playing games, crafting, plant gathering (one can never have enough), watching hockey, or exploring the area.

I come from an education AND library background. I have my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, but fell in love with libraries after I was hired in a school library, where I worked for eight years. At the same time, I worked four years in a public library as a Children's Room assistant, where my love for public libraries flourished. I recently received my Master's of Library and Information Science in May of 2026. I have worked with kids of many ages from all different backgrounds and with all different life stories, and I strive to make any library I work in a place where everyone feels welcome and safe.

Come in any time to say "hello", attend a program, get some good reading materials, see a friendly face, and so much more.
